  it is a very long time since i was an elder and the elders textbooks have changed multiple times since then.

  going back to when i was an elder, to the best of my knowledge the only way a spouse could divorce from his/her partner was porneia, if that person had sexual relations with a man, woman, child, or beast.

  but it had to be proven and that's the dubious 2 witness rule.. in fact, if it was not proven and the innocent party divorced and married someone else, then they could be hauled up in front of a judicial committee and be charged with committing adultery and disfellowshipped!

  i started asking questions about how the world worked and i really wanted an honest opinion from my parents.

  i wasnt a born in--mom got religion when i was about 9 years old. She took me to some meetings--and out of school assembly, from when i was 11. I hated that. got baptised at 14, next to my dad--to please them both. The only "studying" i did was the big pink paradise book. I thought the whole thing was nonsense. I left school at 15--and would have left home--and the crackpot religion--- if i could. Took a few years but i finally got out.

  I realise some folk need a god--and good luck to them--but i dont.

  here in 2022 if anyone says anything against the vaccines even a little bit you are almost apostate.. someone once mentioned all vaccinated sports stars collapsing and someone else said not to speak badly about the gb or by extension jehovah.. the gb can’t get out of this one, it’s gone too far.

  it’s now the case that if you speak against the vaccines you are speaking against the gb and by extension jehovah .

  my wife thinks its hilarious that ive been married 4 times now. Shes going home for the month of december ( Philippines )--she hasnt been back since 2019 because of covid.

  Did becoming a JW influence you to give up something you enjoyed ?

  when i was a teenager a younger fellow workmate was involved in the sport of judo.i got interested and went along to a number of sessions and took to it like a sponge to water ,and as a sport i was happy participating in.. not that much longer another workmate was getting re-activated in the religion of jw`s.

  which i had never heard o before and then got interested in that .. conflict : was judo a sport that was compatible with j.w beliefs?

  sadly i decided it was not and stopped any further involvement.. to this day i resent that decision i made back then .and i`m 82 years old now.. it was a sport i was comfortable doing and i enjoyed it.and i gave it up because of the religion .who knows what i may have achieved had i continued with it.
